Projects: Uganda
In 2009 FFA began assisting a small ROCOR mission on Bukasa Island in Uganda, in order to help the mission to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient. The mission, consisting of about 100 locals, is lead by the first black African priest ordained in ROCOR, Fr. Christopher Walusimbi.
In order to achieve Fr. Christopher’s goal of making the mission self-sufficient, in 2009 the Fund for Assistance raised $22,000 which allowed the mission to:

- provide education for children in the mission
- produce 200 bags of charcoal for sale
- fix the mission’s tractor
- plant 300 seedlings on the mission’s small orange farm.
